Energy sector: Clifford Chance advises shareholders on the sale of Gas-Union
International law firm Clifford Chance has advised German energy enterprises Mainova, Uniper, Kraftwerke Mainz-Wiesbaden, Städtische Werke (Kassel), Stadtwerke Göttingen, EWMR and Stadtwerke Essen as shareholders on the EU-wide public proceedings for the sale of Frankfurt-based Gas-Union GmbH to the European gas and infrastructure services provider VNG AG headquartered in Leipzig.
Gas-Union has been active as a wholesaler and service provider in the natural gas market for more than 55 years and, in addition to gas trading, comprises grid and storage divisions. In addition, GasUnion holds interests in GasLINE and Tender365, among others.
