UK Competition and Markets Authority publishes its Annual Plan for 2024-2025
25 December 2024
The Competition and Markets Authority ("CMA") has set out its strategy for the next 12 months in its 2024/2025 Annual Plan. The plan emphasises the CMA's long-term goal to promote competitive markets and tackling unfair behaviour to deliver favourable outcomes for people, business and the UK economy "in the face of a more volatile, economically challenging and technologically disruptive environment for all", and outlines several updates, including a new focus on digital markets with the introduction of the CMA's new powers and responsibilities under the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Bill, which has recently been adopted.
