David Stringer represents energy and chemicals/petrochemicals industry companies in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, projects, and other transactions. His practical approach to client matters is focused on mitigating actual risk while efficiently driving transactions forward. He has completed more than US$50 billion in energy transactions.

David's recent experience includes acquisitions, divestitures, infrastructure and development projects, reorganizations, carve-outs and other investments spanning businesses and assets involving clean and renewable energy facilities, refineries, LNG, specialty chemical and petrochemical plants and facilities, terminals, hydrocarbon inventories, retail stations, pipeline gathering, processing and transportation systems, and refined fuel procurement and distribution systems.

  • Advised TotalEnergies in its renewable natural gas (RNG) joint venture with Vanguard Renewables
  • Advised Marathon Petroleum Corp. in the formation of a joint venture with Neste to convert Marathon’s idled refinery in Martinez, California into a 730 million gallons per year renewable fuels facility. The multi-year project is structured as a 50/50 joint venture with Neste expected to contribute a total of US$1 billion, inclusive of half of the total projected project development costs through the completion of the project.
  • Advised SER Capital Partners portfolio company Perfect Power Solutions Texas, LLC in the sale of a portfolio of eight solar and energy storage assets in Texas to Gore Street.
  • Advised Chevron U.S.A. Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Chevron Corporation, in its purchase of all of the equity interests of Pasadena Refining System Inc. and PRSI Trading, LLC from Petrobras America Inc. for US$350 million, subject to adjustments for working capital. PRSI owned a refinery in Pasadena, Texas.
