Wesley Tan specialises in advising both domestic and international clients on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, equity capital markets, and corporate restructurings. He works across various sectors, including energy, healthcare, life sciences, and consumer goods.
Wesley previously practised in London and is English law qualified.
- Advised Bain Capital in relation to its US$250 million investment in Masan Group Corporation, a listed Vietnamese conglomerate. This was Bain Capital's first investment into Vietnam.
- Advised telecommunications infrastructure company OMS Group on the strategic investment of US$400 million by KKR to accelerate the growth of OMS' digital infrastructure through expanding its ship fleet size and capabilities, and growing its cable landing stations and subsea cable routes in South East Asia.
- Advised MedcoEnergi on its divestment of Block 12W in Vietnam to Bitexco, and on its divestment of its upstream assets in Thailand to Jadestone Energy as part of its ongoing asset diversification programme.
- Advised Arran Investments, an affiliate of GIC, on the disposal of its 4.4% stake in Bank of the Philippine Islands, one of the largest Philippines Stock Exchange-listed lenders, to Robinsons Retail.
- Advised Actis, a leading global investor in sustainable infrastructure, on the acquisition of a shareholding in a 220 MW Combined Cycle Gas Turbine power plant located in Bhola, Bangladesh from India’s Shapoorji Pallonji Group.
