Desmond Ng is part of the Global Financial Markets (GFM) team and the Worldwide Projects Group (WWPG). He has broad experience working on complex cross-border financings, specialising in the financing of projects/infrastructure, offshore oil and gas and maritime assets (e.g. FSRUs, FPSOs) and conventional vessels.
He has also been involved in restructuring and distressed debt matters and mergers and acquisitions, especially those with offshore and maritime elements.

- Advised lenders in relation to the $700 million senior secured term loan facility for the conversion of the LNG carrier Gimi into an FLNG vessel, to be operated by BP on the Greater Tortue / Ahmeyim Project located on the Mauritania and Senegal maritime border. This was the first commercially syndicated project financing of an FLNG vessel in the international bank market and won African LNG Deal of the Year for 2019 by Project Finance International and Offshore Project Finance Deal of the Year for 2019 by Marine Money.
- Advised lenders on the development and financing of a 158 MW wind farm constructed in the commune of Taïba N'Diaye, Senegal, being Senegal's first industrial-scale wind power project and at that time the largest wind farm planned in West Africa.
- Advised the project company in connection with the project financing of a petrochemical refinery in South East Asia which involves various ECAs and commercial lenders, with the refinery viewed as an important national project (with significant involvement of the local government).
- Advised the lessor across a major LNG shipping player on the sale and leaseback financing of the first full FSRU conversion in a Chinese shipyard.
- Advised a publicly listed South East Asian shipping line in relation to a US$1,000,000,000 term loan facility made available by a syndicate of 10 leading international banks for the financing of the world's largest semi-submersible FPSO.
