Hyo Jeong (HJ) Kwon has a particular focus on international commercial arbitration. HJ advises clients on a wide variety of contractual disputes, with particular experience in disputes arising from large-scale construction, shipbuilding, energy and real estate sectors. HJ’s experience includes advising on ICC, LCIA and LMAA disputes, as well as in the English High Courts.
HJ has worked in Clifford Chance’s London and Paris offices. She has also previously worked (on secondment) in the In-House Legal team at a sovereign wealth fund in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
HJ is admitted as a Solicitor-Advocate (Civil Proceedings) in the Courts of England and Wales.
Prior to joining Clifford Chance HJ worked as a senior auditor at PwC LLP in London where she obtained her ACA accountancy licence. She also has experience involving complex issues on quantum. HJ is fluent in Korean and English.

- Advising the prime contractor in LCIA arbitration proceedings related to a series of claims concerning the construction of a nuclear power plant in the Middle East.
- Advising a sovereign wealth fund in the Middle East over a wide range of commercial disputes.
- Advising a contractor in an LMAA arbitration concerning various breach of contract and restitutionary claims arising from the construction of an oil & gas semi-submersible platform.
- Advising a global engineering company in relation to alleged contractual breach and insurance indemnity.
- Advising a software developer in relation to alleged contractual breach of the software license agreement.
- Advising an aircraft manufacturer in relation to a number of disputes and commercial issues arising from the supply of aircraft.
