Fernando Liu is an associate in the Global Financial Markets Group of Clifford Chance’s New York office.
Fernando has extensive experience in advising sponsors, issuers, corporate clients and financial institutions (including development finance institutions, export credit agencies, multilateral institutions and commercial banks) in connection the development and financing of projects in Latin America.
- Advised IDB Invest and Bancolombia S.A. in connection with the COP473.77 billion (~US$113 million) financing for the development, construction and operation of the 201 MWp Shangri-La solar photovoltaic power plant in Tolima, Colombia.
- Advised on financing for Troncales 5G toll road projects in Colombia
- Advised Citigroup Global Markets Inc. and The Bank of Nova Scotia, in connection with a secured US$330 million syndicated loan to a vehicle of Inicia, an asset management company with investments in Latin America.
- Advised IDB Invest and Proparco on Águas do Rio clean water and sanitation projects in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
- Cristalerías Toro SpA in connection with a Section 4(a)(2) private placement of US$60 million aggregate principal amount of fixed-rate notes with an eight-and-a-half year tenor
