Sanjna specialises in international commercial arbitration, investment arbitration, public international law, and related court proceedings, including the enforcement of arbitral awards and foreign judgments.
With experience practising in India, Hong Kong, and Australia, Sanjna has represented clients in a wide range of industries, including energy, mining, infrastructure, construction, space and telecommunications. Sanjna has acted for clients in both ad hoc and institutional arbitrations, including ICC, UNCITRAL, ICSID, HKIAC, and ACICA rules of arbitration. She also has experience acting for and against States in investment treaty disputes.

- *The Republic of Armenia in ICSID proceedings against US investors concerning a real estate project (ICSID/ARB/1736)
- *A UAE based car manufacturer in UNCITRAL proceedings against an Asian State in a dispute arising from the failure of domestic courts’ enforcement of a commercial arbitration award
- *A CIS country in preparation for ICSID proceedings by foreign investors concerning a gold mining project
- *An Asian conglomerate in preparation for ICSID proceedings against an Asian State concerning unlawful expropriation of a coal mining project
- *ICSID award creditors in enforcement proceedings in the Federal Court of Australia against the Kingdom of Spain arising from solar energy investments in Spain, against a plea of sovereign immunity from the jurisdiction of Australian courts: (i) Kingdom of Spain v Infrastructure Services Luxembourg S.a.r.l & Anor, (ii) RREEF Infrastructure (G.P.) Limited and RREEF Pan-European Infrastructure Two Lux S.a.r.l. v Kingdom of Spain, (iii) 9Ren Holdings v Kingdom of Spain, and (iv) NextEra Energy Global Holdings B.V. v Kingdom of Spain. These proceedings are significant and the first time in Australia the recognition of an ICSID award has been contested and faced a plea of sovereign immunity

- A multinational infrastructure and renewable energy conglomerate in an ACICA arbitration against joint venture parties in relation to a major motorway
- A leading international construction company in arbitration proceedings against a European contractor in relation to a large infrastructure project
- *An Asian contractor in two ICC arbitrations, subject to Indian law, seated in Delhi against an Indian employer concerning the expansion of a steel plant in India. The client was successful in both matters
- *A global mining services provider in relation to a dispute with an Indian SOE in relation to a construction project in India
- *A prominent sub-contractor providing claims management and representation in an ACICA arbitration seated in Melbourne concerning a hospital construction project
- *A leading Asian conglomerate in an ACICA arbitration seated in Perth relating to a gas export pipeline dispute
