Energy transition: Clifford Chance advises bayernets on financing the pipeline project AUGUSTA with a volume of EUR 210 million
Clifford Chance has advised Munich-based transmission system operator bayernets GmbH on financing investments in its gas infrastructure with a volume of EUR 210 million. The money is to be channelled primarily into the AUGUSTA pipeline project. The completion of the AUGUSTA pipeline represents an important milestone in securing the energy supply in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg in the long term and facilitating the transport of hydrogen (H2) in the future. The project therefore plays an important role in the decarbonisation of industrial centres in southern Germany.
Commerzbank AG, KfW IPEX-Bank and DZ BANK AG will each provide one third of the requisite funds.

Die globale Anwaltssozietät Clifford Chance hat den Fernleitungsnetzbetreiber bayernets GmbH mit Sitz in München bei der Finanzierung von Investitionen in seine Gasinfrastruktur im Volumen von €210 Millionen beraten. Das Geld soll vor allem in das Pipelineprojekt AUGUSTA fließen. Die Fertigstellung der AUGUSTA-Pipeline gilt als wichtiger Schritt, um die Energieversorgung in Bayern und Baden-Württemberg langfristig zu sichern und zukünftig den Transport von Wasserstoff (H2) zu ermöglichen. Sie leistet damit einen entscheidenden Beitrag zur Dekarbonisierung der Industriezentren in Süddeutschland.
Die Finanzierung stellt zu je einem Drittel ein Konsortium bestehend aus Commerzbank AG, KfW IPEX-Bank und DZ BANK AG Deutsche Zentral-Genossenschaftsbank bereit.
