Clifford Chance strengthens global litigation team with hire of Daan Lunsingh Scheurleer
Leading international law firm Clifford Chance welcomes Daan Lunsingh Scheurleer as partner into its Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice in Amsterdam. Daan is a highly respected litigator with over twenty years of experience.
"The arrival of Daan is an important step in further strengthening our litigation practice in the Netherlands," said Bas Boris Visser, Amsterdam Co-Managing Partner and Global Head of Innovation and Business Change. "Our global and local strategy is aimed at substantially growing our litigation and dispute resolution practice. He has an excellent reputation in the market, of not only being a great litigator, but also having a considered and strategic approach."
Daan has vast experience in representing issuers, financial institutions and audit firms as defence counsel in domestic and international class actions and complex litigation. He became a partner at NautaDutilh in 2005, after graduating in law from the University of Leiden in 1996. He also holds a degree in Classical Archaeology from the University of Amsterdam (1990).
Dirk-Jan Duynstee, Amsterdam Litigation and Dispute Resolution lead partner: "Clifford Chance is uniquely positioned to advise clients in the most complex (international) litigation matters. We are delighted that Daan is joining our talented Amsterdam team. His addition will further expand our Amsterdam team's strong capabilities and our offering to our clients."
Daan Lunsingh Scheurleer comments: "I see great opportunities for growth at Clifford Chance with its outstanding reputation and impressive client base. I very much look forward to pursuing these opportunities together with the excellent team in Amsterdam and across its global network.”
Clifford Chance's Global Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice includes approximately 500 lawyers in Europe and the UK, the Middle East, Asia/Pacific and the US, providing dispute resolution and regulatory advice across the spectrum. The addition of Daan to the global team follows the growth of the global L&DR partnership with recent hires such as hire of Christine Gärtner from US law firm Latham & Watkins and the promotion of five new partners in April 2020 to the team.
