Clifford Chance advised on largest public and private M&A transactions in Poland in 2019
Clifford chance advised on two of the largest M&A transactions in Poland in 2019, according to a recent ranking in Forbes Poland.
Largest public M&A transaction
Clifford Chance advised AccorInvest Group S.A., a hotel investor, owner and operator active predominantly in the European market, on announcement of the tender offer for 100% of shares of Orbis S.A., the largest Polish company in the hotel sector, as well as on the financing of this transaction.
The Clifford Chance team was led by Agnieszka Janicka, Warsaw managing partner. The transaction team included Jarosław Lorenc and Katarzyna Aleksandrowicz. The financing of the transaction was handled by Clifford Chance's Paris team, with the support of Grzegorz Namiotkiewicz, partner, Co-Head of the Banking & Finance Department, and Roksana Kałużna.
Largest private M&A transaction
Clifford Chance advised Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets (MIRA) on the sale of DCT Gdańsk S.A., a company managing the Deepwater Container Terminal in the seaport in Gdańsk, to PSA International Ptd Ltd (PSA), the Polish Development Fund (PFR) and the IFM Global Infrastructure Fund (GIF).
DCT Gdańsk is one of the largest infrastructure investments in Poland, the largest and fastest-growing Polish container terminal and the only deep-water terminal in the Baltic Sea region at which ships from the Far East call directly.
