Clifford Chance partners re-elect Matthew Layton as global Managing Partner
Matthew Layton has been chosen to lead Clifford Chance for a second four year term, commencing on 1 May 2018, following an uncontested Managing Partner election.
Malcolm Sweeting, Clifford Chance Senior Partner comments: "Matthew has done an excellent job of leading Clifford Chance, keeping us at the forefront of the legal industry against a backdrop of growing challenges for our clients and disruption within the legal industry itself. I am delighted that he will continue to serve in the role for a second term and confident that he will steer the business from strength to strength."
Layton comments:
"It is a huge privilege to continue as Managing Partner. We have an exciting vision and strategy for the firm; we are already making good progress and I look forward to cementing that momentum in the coming years. In an environment where the pace of change is unprecedented and accelerating, our clients are facing complexity and uncertainty like never before. For us, that creates opportunities as well as risks. Our success will depend on our ability to invest in talent and evolve our service model, working in true collaboration with our clients."
"I would like to thank our clients who place their trust in us, and everyone who has worked so hard at Clifford Chance to make the last four years a success. I am immensely proud of what we have achieved together and look forward to working with you all over the next four years."
