Global law firm Clifford Chance earned the "Most Important Court Case of the Year" recognition at the 2024 Global Investigations Review (GIR) Awards in Washington, DC. The Litigation and Dispute Resolution team accepted the award for their role securing a not-guilty jury verdict on behalf of client and former CEO of Autonomy, Dr. Michael Lynch following a 12-week jury trial in U.S. federal court in San Francisco.

The acquittal of Dr. Lynch, and his co-defendant Stephen Chamberlain, by a US jury ended a 12-year, cross-border legal battle that saw the former Autonomy CEO accused of inflating the value of the software company before it was acquired by Hewlett Packard for US$11 billion. The recognition continued with the firm also being named in the 2024 GIR30, the publication's annual ranking of the 30 best law firms for cross-border corporate investigations.
