At Clifford Chance we see inclusion as a core value of the firm and also of the law.

We understand that diversity and inclusion are good for our staff and their families, our firm and our clients, and society. We believe that to help achieve these values we have to be champions of, and campaigners for them across our firm, with our clients, and in the world.

We see inclusion as an intrinsic value of our firm. It is a matter of justice. It is also a core part of our identity. Our history as a firm has been anchored in innovative and diverse cultures and approaches which have both disrupted traditional attitudes and set global standards.

Responsible Business Report 2024

Achieving Mansfield certification in the US and UK, 2024

Clifford Chance has achieved Mansfield certification in the United States for the eighth consecutive year, and in the United Kingdom for the third year.

Mansfield is a year-long certification process designed with a focus on ensuring that all qualifying talent at participating law firms have a fair and equal opportunity to be considered for advancement into leadership roles.

A collaborative approach to inclusion

Integral to our values, at Clifford Chance we believe being inclusive is the right thing to do and is what our clients demand. Our commitment to the issue is recognised by some significant clients and during FY24 we worked alongside Amazon, HSBC, and many other banks and corporates, as well as financial investor clients, on initiatives that further our shared inclusion agendas.

Supporting the General Counsel for Diversity & Inclusion

GCD&I draws together leading General Counsel to promote inclusion and diversity. With more than 130 signatories from across the business spectrum, GCD&I has developed a series of consistent metrics designed to measure and report on diversity. The next steps include driving their adoption, thereby enabling in-house and law firm legal teams to be more representative.
