On 23 February, the European Commission published its long-awaited proposal for mHREDD legislation – the Corporate Sustainable Due Diligence (CSDD) directive. If adopted, the proposal would require large companies to carry out due diligence to identify and address adverse human rights and environmental impacts of their operations, subsidiaries and value chains, and to produce climate plans.
