European Commission proposes ambitious update to packaging rules

The European Commission has proposed a long-awaited legislative update aimed at reducing packaging waste across the EU as part of efforts to create a circular economy.
The proposal will now be the subject of debate in the European Parliament and Council of the EU under the ordinary legislative procedure.
