Hague Skinner is specialised in resolving energy and resources sector disputes, and has a special interest in the legal and regulatory issues which surround decommissioning of energy and resources sector projects.
Hague's practice involves developing and negotiating legislative and contractual instruments which establish the regulatory regimes applicable to significant energy and resources projects, and Hague has experience in related international arbitration proceedings and litigation before Australian Courts.
Hague also has an interest in sports law, and hears disciplinary matters as a tribunal member for each of Football West and Basketball WA.
- Acting for Greenland Minerals A/S (a subsidiary of Energy Transition Minerals Ltd) in a dispute with the governments of Greenland and the Kingdom of Denmark regarding the right to develop the Kvanefjeld Technology Metals Project (ad hoc international arbitration, Copenhagen seat).
- Representing a Japanese gas buyer as a member of an unincorporated joint-venture in the re-negotiation of PSCs, and related petroleum production legislation, following the change in the maritime boundary between Australia and Timor-Leste, and providing advice in relation to prospective litigation.
- Representing an unincorporated joint-venture of international energy companies in the negotiation of legislative and contractual instruments regarding project decommissioning at end of field life for a major gas project in South-East Asia.
