UK Edinburgh Reforms: Key Takeaways for Asset Managers

On Friday 9 December 2022, the UK’s Chancellor of the Exchequer announced a series of reforms to drive growth and competitiveness in the UK financial services sector. Referred to as the ‘Edinburgh Reforms’ and being informally dubbed ‘Big Bang 2.0’, the package includes proposed reforms that will affect the buy-side, the sell-side, intermediaries and the UK regulators themselves.
